History of Iota Xi Chapter
Iota Xi Chapter was established in 2018 at Missouri State University in the Plaster Student Union in the presence of our national council. Since then the chapter has been proud of its strong brotherhood between members. Alpha Sigma Phi at Missouri State is a fraternity that any man can be proud of being a part of!
Alpha Sigma Phi History
The Alpha Sigma Phi we know today was founded in 1845 at Yale University. The Fraternity Community far different from today’s college experience. There was little focus on outside academic work. At Yale University class loyalties and traditions were so important that fraternities were established by class. Alpha Sigma Phi was established as a sophomore class fraternity and is the only surviving Sophomore fraternity from this time period.

Brotherhood Creed
With the realization of responsibilities and obligations conferred upon me as a prospective brother in Alpha Sigma Phi I pledge:
- To faithfully observe the ethics of Alpha Sigma Phi, assisting and encouraging my Brothers.
- To adhere to the constitutional authority within the chapter and Fraternity, governing my actions with a high sense of honor.
- To retain in my confidence the private business of this fraternity, impressing upon my heart and mind that initiation into Alpha Sigma Phi shall bind me to her as a Brother all through life.
- To develop a deep loyalty to my alma mater, maintaining the highest standards of scholastic purpose and performance.
- To devote myself to the principles of charity and patriotism, promoting the unity of spirit and purpose, which prevails in Alpha Sigma Phi.
